In Perthshire, Scotland the top 300mm of concrete of
the Lednock dam was replaced using a Webster Schaeff
TCU.
The project involved the removal of 169 cubic metres
of concrete from the 225m long dam. Throughout the contract
the WS 60 TCU averaged a cutting rate of 1.2 cubic metres
per hour, including profiling operations.
The low levels of vibration produced were a major advantage,
as the renovation work could not damage the remaining
structure of the dam.
The accuracy of cut that is possible with a Webster
Schaeff TCU makes it ideal for profiling, both vertically
and horizontally on a concrete face, providing a good
key for re-capping with new concrete.
